CRACK International Art Camp 2019
In 2019, the 13th edition of Crack International Art Camp was curated by artist Suresh K. Nair from Kerala, India and attended by over twenty participants representing five countries across the world, including Japan, Russia, USA, India and Bangladesh. The theme of the camp was “Roots” and artworks presented ranged across disciplines, from sculptural installation, to painting, performance, live music and video presentation. Artists engaged with local villagers, collecting oral history, archiving myriad stories, impressions and ideas of roots. Others used local materials including jute, bamboo and other natural elements in dialogue with the environment to create visual reflections on our world, possibilities of roots and rootlessness in a constantly changing time.
